The Dark Knight

Batman: The Dark Knight is the best darn movie I’ve seen in a long, long time. Top notch acting, direction, action, gadgetry, effects, storyline, everything just works!
The Joker

And as expected, in Batman movies that have The Joker in them, the overshadowing of Batman’s character is almost inevitable. Christian Bale does manage to hold his own, but Heath Ledger’s Joker is the performance of a lifetime, sadly also his last.

Update: I just noticed that The Dark Knight has managed to top the IMDB Top 250 movies of all time, beating even The Shawshank Redemption. And it’s been what …. 3 weeks since it released? Amazing!

  1. I think Inspector Gadget has more (better?) gadgets than batman >.> The movie kind of sucked for me. I stay in the cinema only coz of teh Joker. Even the iMax didnt help build teh atmos.

    Thats my review :p

  2. It was nice to see that Heath received the Oscar. He put on an amazing performance. Sad, that some one with so much talent is no longer with us. But he lived a fuller life than most.

  3. Heath’s performance was great, but not great enough to make this top 250, or anything close. The themes: some good people can turn evil; some evil people are just… well, evil. Profound huh. Well perhaps it could have been, but I didn’t think it was handled with any great insight. And sorry, but I’m not sure what was so great about the story line. I never found myself becoming all that interested in what was going to happen next. It just sort of meandered from one confused action sequence to the next. A disappointment after the inspired ‘Batman Begins’.
